About InchyArt

A mother–daughter ceramics story, from Troyan to Wimbledon.

InchyArt hand-made ceramics — colourful pottery inspired by Bulgarian tradition

InchyArt brings together Bulgarian pottery traditions, playful design and the simple joy of using something made by hand.

Our story stretches between Bulgaria and London—from Troyan and Plovdiv to Wimbledon—and is shaped by family, creativity and our shared love of ceramics.

Where it began

My mum, Tanya, first fell in love with clay at the age of 14, while studying ceramics and art in Troyan, one of Bulgaria’s best-known pottery towns.

Although ceramics gradually took a back seat to family and everyday life, she returned to the pottery wheel during the quiet months of 2020. What began as a return to something she had always loved soon became something we could build together.

I started sharing her pieces from my home in Wimbledon, London—and InchyArt was born.

From Bulgaria to Wimbledon

Today, Tanya shares her time between Bulgaria and Wimbledon. Our ceramics are created in small batches, each piece shaped, painted and glazed by hand.

Her work remains rooted in the pottery traditions she grew up with, while nature, travel and the places around her continue to inspire every collection.

I run InchyArt from Wimbledon—curating our collections, photographing the ceramics, carefully packing orders and meeting customers at local markets.

When Tanya is in London, we also host small ceramic workshops in welcoming spaces around Wimbledon, sharing the pleasure of making and painting pottery with others.

Made to be used and loved

We don’t aim for perfect uniformity. Our mugs, bowls, plates, vases and decorative ceramics are individually made and painted, often inspired by lemons, strawberries, pomegranates, leaves, wildflowers and traditional Bulgarian motifs.

Brushstrokes vary, shapes differ and glazes respond in their own way during every firing. These small variations are part of the beauty of handmade pottery and mean that no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.

We create colourful ceramics to be lived with—pieces to fill with flowers, place at the centre of a table, enjoy your morning coffee from or give to someone special.

For us, pottery is about connection: between maker and material, mother and daughter, tradition and contemporary life, and the people who welcome our pieces into their homes.

Made between Bulgaria and Wimbledon. Rooted in tradition, inspired by nature and created for joyful homes.
